Tailor-made expedition
Seven days of wild plains, then an overland expedition to one of Africa's highest waterfalls.
Kalambo Falls is treated as a separate overland expedition, not a quick excursion. Tanzania Forest Services lists the reserve at approximately 277 kilometres by road from Mpanda, so this journey is built with staging nights, a properly equipped vehicle and a deliberate contingency day.
A guide to the shape of the trip. The final itinerary is confirmed before travel and adapts to season, conditions and your pace.
Arrive on the confirmed service, meet the camp team and begin wildlife viewing as timing permits.
A full day across the river and plains, following water, access and recent wildlife movement, with any optional walk pre-approved.
Use the available morning in the park, leave with appropriate buffers and overnight in the confirmed Mpanda-area property.
Travel south in a properly equipped private vehicle, with route, fuel, stops, daylight arrival and accommodation reconfirmed before departure.
Walk with the required local guide to the approved viewpoint or trail, adapting the plan to weather, water level, path condition, fitness and reserve rules.
A verified nearby nature, culture or Lake Tanganyika experience — or retained as a weather and road buffer when that is the safer itinerary.
Continue by the explicitly booked road or charter plan toward Sumbawanga, Mbeya, Songwe or another approved finish.
Insert chimpanzee trekking before the overland leg, when flights support it.
A second buffer day is genuinely worthwhile on this route.
Road or charter finishes are quoted separately so you can choose time against cost.
Specific properties are confirmed in your quotation once dates, availability and rates are approved.
